Megabass’s KONOSIRUS SHAD is a shad plug designed for the konoshiro pattern, targeting large sea bass and bluefish that are less likely to respond to standard-sized lures. It features a large, flattened 150 mm body closely resembling an actual konoshiro. The original crank bill minimizes frontal projection, reducing retrieve resistance despite the lure’s large profile while producing a sharp, high-pitch swimming action. An ultra-low-center-of-gravity, high-density balancer is positioned in the lower body, generating sharp rolling action and intense flashing from a stable swimming posture.
During the cast, the high-density weights in the three-unit weight-transfer system shift toward the rear, contributing to the casting performance needed to send the 72 g body long distances. After landing, its low-centered weight distribution quickly brings the lure into its swimming posture, appealing to predatory fish waiting for feeding opportunities around or beneath schools of konoshiro. The primary method is range-tracing with a steady retrieve. It has a floating configuration and a maximum diving depth of 1.6 m. The lure features swivel hook eyes and is equipped with two #2/0 hooks. Compared with the lipless KONOSIRUS SWIMMER, which is designed to search shallow water, this model is intended to provide moderate pull from its crank bill and target deeper ranges.
