Megabass KIRINJI is a wakebait designed to target the water just beneath the surface, featuring ITO’s original hydrodynamic “4 INTAKE 4 OUT” structure (PAT.P). It actively draws only the water flow required to create its wake action into the body, minimizing excess resistance while delivering a light, effortless retrieve feel and an ultra-high-pitch roll. Even in conditions affected by waves or current, it produces a stable wobble-and-roll action to attract fish focused on the surface.
The KIRINJI 70 measures 70 mm, weighs 7 g, and is a floating lure with a target depth of 0–0.1 m. Designed for near-surface fishing when targeting small baitfish such as whitebait and young mullet, it swims steadily along the surface on a standard retrieve. Its water-through system also allows it to be used as a popper, producing bubble-covered slides and splashes. The KIRINJI 120 measures 120 mm and weighs 21 g. With its reduced-buoyancy setup, holding the rod tip close to the surface allows it to be fished as a shallow runner at approximately 10 cm deep. It also supports bubble-and-splash popping, as well as bubble dives and retrieves. The series allows anglers to adjust the strength of its appeal and match different baitfish sizes according to the lure size, while switching between a basic straight retrieve, current-assisted presentations, and popper actions.
