Last Updated: May 2026

Proshop Otsuka ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website www.fishing-otsuka.co.jp. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you provide: name, shipping address, phone number, and email address when you place an order or contact us.
  • Automatically collected information: browser type, language preference, referring site, IP address, pages visited, and date/time of visits. This information does not directly identify you.

Payment is processed entirely through PayPal. We do not collect or store your credit card or banking information.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process and fulfill your orders
  • To communicate with you about your order or inquiries
  • To improve our website and services
  • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns

We will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Analytics & Advertising Tools

We use the following third-party services to analyze site usage and deliver relevant advertising. These services may collect information about your visits to our site via cookies and similar technologies. All tools are loaded through Cloudflare Zaraz — see Section 4 for how to manage your consent.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. Data collected includes pages viewed, session duration, and general location (country/region). This data is sent to Google and is not linked to personally identifiable information. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Ads

We use Google Ads for conversion tracking and remarketing. This means visitors who have browsed our site may see our ads on Google's network. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. See Google's Privacy Policy and Google Ad Settings.

Meta Ads (Facebook / Instagram)

We use the Meta Pixel for advertising on Facebook and Instagram. When you visit our site, the Meta Pixel may collect information about your actions (such as pages viewed or items added to cart) and associate this with your Facebook/Instagram profile if you are logged in. This data is used to measure ad performance and show relevant ads to people who have visited our site. See Meta's Privacy Policy.

Reddit Ads

We use the Reddit Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our Reddit advertising campaigns. The Reddit Pixel collects information about visits to our site and may be used to build audiences for advertising on Reddit. See Reddit's Privacy Policy.

All third-party tracking tools listed above are delivered through Cloudflare Zaraz, which includes a built-in consent management system. On your first visit to our site, a consent dialog will appear allowing you to individually accept or reject each tracking category. No tracking scripts are loaded until you give consent.

You can reset your consent preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies. Your choices apply to the device and browser you are using.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not disclose your personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

  • To international shipping carriers (FedEx, EMS) to deliver your order
  • To PayPal to process your payment
  • To analytics and advertising platforms as described in Section 3, subject to your consent
  • When required by law or government authority
  • To protect the rights or safety of our customers or business

Some of the third-party services listed above may transfer and store data outside of Japan and the European Economic Area. These transfers are covered by the respective service's data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses.

6. Security

We use SSL/TLS encryption across our entire website to protect data in transit. While we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. EU / GDPR Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — You can request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Right to restriction — You can ask us to restrict how we process your data.
  • Right to object — You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies), you may withdraw consent at any time via the Cloudflare Zaraz consent dialog or by clearing your cookies.

Our legal basis for processing your data is:

  • Contract performance — for processing orders and shipping
  • Consent — for analytics and advertising tracking
  • Legal obligation — for tax and accounting records

To exercise your rights, please email us at [email protected].

8. Cookies

We use cookies to maintain your shopping cart session, remember your consent preferences, and (subject to your consent) enable analytics and advertising tracking as described in Section 3. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of our site — such as the shopping cart — may not function correctly without them.

9. E-commerce

When you make a purchase, we collect your name, shipping address, email address, and phone number to process and fulfill your order. Your shipping information is shared with FedEx or EMS to deliver your package. Payment is handled entirely by PayPal — we do not see or store your card details. We retain order records as required by Japanese law.
