The DAIWA Shoreline Shiner Z Vertice R is a minnow lure designed to combine long casting distance with quick start-up after landing. Its shape minimizes air resistance while allowing the weight to move all the way to the rear of the body, enabling it to carry a large tungsten weight. The wire-oscillating weight-transfer system uses a SAKUSAS shaft and half spring: during the cast, the weight moves rearward, then quickly returns forward from the impact of landing. The final stage, the “Maglock + R Ver.S” system, secures the weight with a magnet, helping achieve a fast start-up and stable action.
The action is a tight wobble and roll. The 140F measures 140 mm in length, weighs 27 g, has a slow-floating configuration, and runs at an effective depth of approximately 0.3–1.2 m. The 140S uses the same 140 mm body, has a slow-sinking configuration weighing 28.5 g, and runs at an effective depth of approximately 0.5–1.4 m. The lineup also includes the 125F, 125S, 156F, and 156S, with range and handling varying according to size and buoyancy setting. The standard hooks for the 140F and 140S are #4 treble hooks, and the standard split rings are #3. In addition to steady retrieves after a long cast, the lure can be adapted to areas with current by adjusting the retrieve speed and incorporating drifts and pauses, taking advantage of the different floating and sinking settings.
