DAIWA’s Outrage is an offshore jigging rod designed based on the design philosophy of the flagship SALTIGA series. It combines the control needed to make jigs move exactly as intended with the lifting power required when fighting fish. While providing the stiffness needed to firmly work compatible jigs, it also offers the flexibility to absorb the load during a fight, pursuing a balance that helps reduce angler fatigue during extended periods of jerking.
The blank features a one-piece construction focused on strength and action. The spinning models use lightweight Air Sensor seats, with attention also given to operability and a comfortable grip. The grip end has a straight design that makes it easy to brace against the armpit while jerking, while the baitcasting models feature TCS seats prioritizing a secure hold. The J63S-2.5 is suited to targeting fish in depths of approximately 30–80 m using PE 2–2.5 line and jigs around 140 g, and handles everything from small tungsten jigs to semi-long jigs, including one-pitch jerks and fast, continuous retrieves. The J63S-3 is designed primarily for one-pitch jerks with semi-long to long jigs, while the J61S-4 and J61S-5 are power models intended for greater depths and larger pelagic fish.
