DAIWA’s LATEO is a standard rod designed to enhance the casting performance and lure control that form the foundation of seabass fishing, making it easier to develop tactics suited to the location and lure being used. The slim, high-modulus blank and reinforced grip section pursue a crisp, powerful swing and long-distance casting performance. It supports low-trajectory liner casts as well as accurate casts to targeted spots. The rod features a CC GRIP (Complete Control Grip), with flat sides on the rear grip and adjusted EVA groove width and depth. The grip is designed for easy handling according to the rod’s orientation during spinning and baitcasting.
Equipped with X45 to suppress twisting, V-JOINT for smooth load transfer, an Air Sensor reel seat, and K guides with stainless steel frames and SiC rings. The high-modulus blank and optimized tip taper make it easier to detect not only when the lure reaches the bottom, but also changes in the current acting on the lure, helping bring out its natural action. The 93ML・K is designed for long-distance casting in urban rivers and tidal flats, while the 93M/MH・K combines a supple M-power tip with a powerful MH-power butt to target trophy-sized seabass using lures around 10–12 cm. The 100ML・K, 100M・K, and 100MH・K are designed with long-distance casting in mind for estuaries and surf, with the 100MH・K handling strong currents as well as heavy vibration lures, sinking pencils, and jointed lures. The 106M・K, 110M・K, and 110MH・K models are suited to fishing at greater distances, including from the surf and rocky shore, and to using larger lures.
