Daiwa’s SALTIGA series includes metal jigs designed to handle a variety of offshore jigging conditions. Centered around designs that entice fish on the fall, the lineup features models made from different materials and with different shapes. The SALTIGA FK JIG TG features a compact tungsten silhouette and a “Fall Killer” design, and is available in weights such as 130 g and 150 g. The SALTIGA TG BAIT also uses tungsten and is a compact jig designed for situations where fish are feeding on small baitfish.
The SALTIGA CREDO ARTIS is designed as a short jig to serve as the foundation of a lure rotation. When jigged, it turns sideways and pauses momentarily, while on the fall it descends with an irregular wobbling action. Side edges enhance movement stability, while the slim head reduces retrieve resistance while maintaining action on the fall. The vertically elongated line eye reduces resistance underwater and stabilizes the direction of input. Since each model has different characteristics depending on its shape and material, the TG models are suited to situations where a fast fall or compact silhouette is a priority, while the CREDO ARTIS is suited to situations where fish-attracting action during the fall and a more basic, predictable handling feel are preferred. They can be selected according to the target depth, current, and bait size. Note that some FK JIG TG and TG BAIT models do not come with standard hooks and are used with assist hooks designed for compact tungsten jigs.
