Daiwa’s Outrage XV J is an offshore rod designed for jigging, combining the jerking performance needed to move jigs as intended with the power required to battle powerful pelagic fish. While inheriting the rod actions of the Outrage series, it features specifications and power suited to fishing fields around the world, along with a taper designed for easy jig manipulation and reduced angler fatigue. Its blank is designed to handle a variety of jigging techniques, making it ideal for actively working jigs to trigger strikes.
The outermost layer of the blank’s butt section features BRAIDING X, which tightly wraps carbon tape in an X pattern. This helps suppress twisting that occurs during rod operation, providing strength in a slim blank while also enhancing handling performance. The spinning models are equipped with Fuji DPS reel seats, while the baitcasting models feature Fuji TCS reel seats, with configurations suited to jigging with medium- and large-sized reels. The lineup includes the spinning models J60S-3, J60S-4, and J60S-5, along with the baitcasting models J60B-3 and J60B-4. The J60S-3 and J60B-3 are designed for PE line up to No. 3 and jigs up to 180 g, making them suitable for medium-sized pelagic fish. The J60S-4 and J60B-4 are designed for PE line up to No. 4 and jigs up to 220 g, making them suitable for medium- to large-sized pelagic fish. The J60S-5 is designed for PE line up to No. 5 and jigs up to 260 g, making it a model for large pelagic fish. Each model allows anglers to select the appropriate jig weight, line class, and reel type for their intended application.
