SHIMANO PITBULL 12 is a PE line for lure casting that combines suppleness and smoothness with the direct handling provided by low stretch. Made from IZANAS® high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibers, it is constructed using the 12-strand “Tough Cross 2” braiding process. The fibers are tightly packed while maintaining a relatively open braid to reduce stretch, with careful attention also given to surface smoothness, linearity, and consistent strength.
Its design retains a slight amount of stiffness, helping prevent slack from wrapping around the guides during casting and reducing the likelihood of guide tangles. In addition, its structure incorporates a casting tune developed through testing different braiding methods to help prevent backlash, making the line easier to handle when casting lures. The direct feel provided by its low stretch helps transmit force during lure manipulation and hook-setting.
Available in Sight Lime, PL-M52R comes in a 150 m spool, while PL-M62R comes in a 200 m spool. Both models are available in sizes from No. 0.6 to No. 2, allowing you to choose according to your application and reel line capacity. As a versatile main line for lure fishing, it is suitable for a wide range of lure games, including saltwater lure fishing centered on casting.
