SHIMANO’s EXSENCE STRONG ASSASSIN 125F/125S FLASH BOOST is a minnow designed to target large fish in open-water areas such as rocky shores, surf, and river mouths, with an emphasis on strength and strong fish-attracting performance. Its thick-walled body is combined with a through-wire construction and is compatible with a two-hook system using large No. 2 hooks. The body and internal structure are reinforced to withstand powerful fights around rocky shorelines.
Its action is characterized by a wide wobble-and-roll that pushes plenty of water even during a slow retrieve, with a design that maintains stability in foam lines and current. During a fast retrieve, it moves smoothly while deflecting water, while jerking produces irregular, powerful slides. In addition to the FLASH BOOST mechanism, in which an internal reflector continues to oscillate using the lure’s vibrations, it features SCALE BOOST, which reproduces the appearance of fish scales. These features provide flash not only during the retrieve but also while drifting or momentarily paused. A weight-transfer system also helps stabilize the lure in flight and improve casting performance.
The 125F has strong buoyancy, making it suitable for slow retrieves targeting fish holding near the surface and for searching shallow water. The 125S is easier to run at deeper ranges than the 125F and can be selected for maintaining depth after allowing the lure to sink following splashdown, drifting in strong waves and wind, or when greater casting distance is desired.
