Shimano’s EXSENCE SILENT ASSASSIN 140S AR-C is a 140 mm sinking minnow developed to reach offshore currents, feeding frenzies, current seams, and other targets that are difficult to reach with conventional minnows. It features the AR-C weight-transfer system inside the body. During the cast, the weight moves toward the rear to extend casting distance, then returns to the proper forward position after splashdown through the action of an internal spring. This design combines long-distance casting performance with the characteristic minnow-like responsiveness that allows the lure to start swimming immediately after the retrieve begins.
The 140S is a sinking model measuring 140 mm in length and weighing 26 g. According to the official specifications, it has a casting distance of 71 m, a sinking rate of 32 cm per second, a swimming posture of 6 degrees, and a current-speed specification of 105 cm per second or higher. Its natural action is primarily a rolling motion, making it suitable not only for steady retrieves but also for drifting with the current. It can also be cast from an upcurrent-cross position toward the cross-current direction, allowing anglers to search different depths while letting the lure drift without over-tightening the line. It comes equipped with three #4 hooks. This model is suited to situations where its casting distance is used to target distant areas with a minnow, or where anglers want to take advantage of the volume and deeper range offered by a 140 mm-class lure.
