Gamakatsu’s LUXXE SPEED METAL SS is a squid metal fishing rod designed for an active style of fishing that involves enticing squid while carefully detecting subtle bites and setting the hook. A highly sensitive and highly visible solid tip is used on every baitcasting and spinning model, making it easy to see and feel small changes such as squid punches and lift bites, when the rig suddenly feels lighter. The action is tuned for excellent maneuverability, supporting everything from sharply working the sutte to long pauses, while combining user-friendly handling and high sensitivity as an entry-level model. The blanks are primarily made of carbon fiber blended with fiberglass and feature a spigot-joint construction. The baitcasting models use an all-single spiral guide setting.
The lineup includes the B66M-solid, B66MH-solid, and B66H-solid for squid metal fishing, as well as the S610M-solid and S610MH-solid for omorig fishing. The B66M-solid is suited to situations where lightweight sutte must be worked responsively, primarily with 10–20-gou weights, as well as fishing that emphasizes stability in rough weather and long pauses. The B66MH-solid provides the power to handle deep water without being overpowered by the sinker, while the B66H-solid is tuned for strong currents and situations requiring heavier rigs. The S610M-solid handles lightweight sinkers in shallow water or weak currents, with its supple tip helping to prevent the rig from jumping. The S610MH-solid maintains easy handling even in strong currents and offers long-casting capability along with light, responsive control.
