Mizar Turns Head

MIZAR’s TERNS HEAD is a jig head developed with the goal of increasing the hook-up-to-catch ratio. Based on more than 100,000 fish caught and tested in actual fishing situations, every detail has been carefully refined—from the hook shape, wire diameter, size, and hardness to the line eye, head shape, and coating—to create a design that hooks securely deep inside a fish’s mouth and is less likely to come free.

The head features a standard shape that helps maintain a stable posture and minimizes interference with hook-setting. It also offers a moderate amount of retrieve resistance and is designed with casting distance in mind. The hook has a slightly open point compared with a traditional kirbed shape, and uses a short shank with a shortened bend position. It also features a rust-resistant coating. Two sizes are available: S for fish up to 20 cm and M for fish over 20 cm. The S size is not limited to small horse mackerel, and depending on the quality of the bite, can also handle fish under 15 cm. Available weights are 0.7 g, 1.0 g, 1.3 g, 1.6 g, and 2.0 g, allowing the jig head to be selected according to the target depth and current when used with a soft plastic on a jig-only rig.
