Real Fisher Ika Rubber

REAL FISHER’s IKA RUBBER is a Tai Rubber lure developed from the concept of imitating squid preyed upon by fish while combining elements of Tai Rubber and Inchiku. It features realistic squid eyes that replicate a squid’s eyes, with a squid-inspired silhouette and rubber hooks designed to attract fish. Available in multiple weights, including the IKA RUBBER 120g and IKA RUBBER 150g, it can be selected according to the depth and current conditions.

During a slow to moderate steady retrieve, the head produces a rolling action that sways from side to side, creating movement reminiscent of a fleeing squid. When the retrieve is paused and the lure is left to rest, the head and rubber components continue to flutter and attract fish. The basic technique is a steady retrieve at a consistent speed, but the lure can also be used with added rod lifts, or in combination with falls and pauses depending on the conditions. With a retrieve-focused presentation, it can be fished as a Tai Rubber, while adding rod lifts provides a feel closer to working a metal jig, allowing different approaches when targeting fish focused on squid.

The rubber and hook components use a three-hook staggered rig produced by the charter fishing boat Seven. It can be used in its standard configuration and is also compatible with replacement rubber hook sets. The IKA RUBBER 120g and 150g models are easy to select according to current speed and the required sink rate, from nearshore waters to slightly deeper ranges.
