HIDEUP’s HU-PERRER 248 is a lip-removable lure featuring an ultra-thin body that makes it lighter than conventional big baits of a similar size, allowing it to be handled with relatively light tackle. This floating model measures 260 mm overall, has a 248 mm body, and weighs approximately 74 g. Its thin body produces a baitfish-like flashing and rolling effect underwater. It also features through-wire construction, and according to the manufacturer, catches of sea bass were confirmed during development both with and without the lip attached.

With the lip removed, it basically swims with a straight, I-shaped action, transitioning to a flat-flashing action when retrieved above a certain speed. When paused, it floats with its raised back slightly breaking the surface, creating a swaying motion as it responds to wind and waves. With the lip attached, it produces a wobbling action reminiscent of a weakened baitfish, like a minnow. Adding jerks makes the body flash on its side, generating an aggressive, threatening action. Because the action can be changed by attaching or removing the lip and by varying the retrieve, it can be used for everything from a subsurface I-shaped retrieve to a combination of steady retrieves and jerks with the lip attached.
