issei’s Umitaro Nezakanamushi Heavy Salt is a heavy-salt model of the proven Nezakanamushi rockfish lure, made from a high-specific-gravity material. The increased specific gravity improves its affinity with seawater, producing a natural action that differs from the original model. Its thick body and three pairs of legs generate fine vibrations from the legs during the fall and retrieve. The streamlined body helps achieve longer casting distance, while the ribs on the body surface catch water and make it easier to conceal the point of an offset hook.

When paired with the Nezakanodama or used on a Texas rig, it produces vibrations during lift-and-fall presentations with an action resembling a thick-tailed creature wagging its tail. During a straight retrieve, the thick body pushes water while the three pairs of legs add subtle vibrations, allowing presentations ranging from quick movements to slow retrieves. With no added weight, it can be used for dragging along the bottom and slow-fall presentations. With a backslide setup, it can achieve increased casting distance, a faster fall rate, and a backslide action. The 2.2-inch model is recommended with Multi Offset hooks in sizes #1 to 1/0, while the 2.6-inch model is recommended with sizes #2/0 to 4/0. The recommended hook size varies by lure size.
