Buddy Works’ ONBAIT is a metal jig developed from a design concept that pairs it with OFFBAIT. It is designed to create the impression of a switched-on, highly lifelike baitfish. The recommended retrieve speed for producing its dynamic action is medium to medium-fast.

Its body shape readily grips the water, making it easier to maintain the desired depth without increasing the weight, even in fast currents or strong wind and waves. It is resistant to being carried excessively by the current, helping anglers trace their intended line, while its action remains light and highly responsive, producing a sharp, crisp movement. In addition to its rear-weighted center of gravity, the body is designed to smoothly turn rearward during the cast, helping stabilize its flight and reduce the effects of wind. It combines reliable depth control in current, a flashy, quick-response action, and stable casting performance.

The basic retrieve is a steady medium to medium-fast retrieve, with the depth adjusted according to the strength of the current, wind, and waves. The standard hook setup is a #8 front hook and a #6 rear hook. The 32 g model measures 66 mm in length, while the 42 g model measures 68 mm, allowing anglers to choose between them according to conditions and the casting distance required. Buddy Works also envisions rotating between OFFBAIT and ONBAIT according to the conditions.
