Buddy Works Off Con

Buddy Works’ OFFCON is a metal jig tuned from the Off Bait for targeting super-shallow areas. It is designed to be retrieved with a smooth, bottom-hugging slalom action. Focusing on situations where the belly hook on a two-hook jig interferes with the bottom and makes the lure difficult to control, Buddy Works applied the concept of removing the belly hook tested on the Off Bait to a compact body design, enhancing the sharpness of its action.

The hook setup consists of two original single hooks. This hook system follows the jig’s movement, helping preserve the body’s action while making it easier to achieve solid hooksets with two hooks. The wide-gape design is intended to provide deep penetration. When tracing near the bottom, the OFFCON can be worked by taking advantage of its slalom action. By adjusting the depth with line tension and rod control, it is suited to fishing with the super-shallow bottom in mind. The 30 g model measures 58 mm, while the 40 g model measures 60 mm; both feature the original two-single-hook configuration.
