Buddy Works’ OFF SPIN is a metal jig designed to vary the blade’s flashing attraction and appeal according to the retrieve speed. Rather than simply adding a blade to the Off Bait, the body shape was redesigned from the ground up, adopting a slightly rear-weighted 4:6 balance compared with the Off Bait’s center balance. The wide, thin body generates an aggressive action on its own, while the resistance created by the blade fine-tunes its movement. The blade serves both as a stabilizer that keeps the lure properly positioned and as a source of flashing light reflection.

During a slow retrieve, the blade’s resistance takes precedence, creating an enticing action with rotational flashing. As the retrieve speed increases, the blade’s movement synchronizes with the body’s wobble-and-roll action, changing into a flashing appeal that flickers from side to side. When working the lure, vary the retrieve speed to make use of the changes in blade rotation and body action. The line eye is fitted with a size #0 swivel and a #2 original blade. The hook setup is size #8 on the front and size #6 on the rear. It is available in 32 g and 40 g weights, both measuring 68 mm in length. Choose the weight according to conditions such as casting distance and current strength.
