Buddy Works’ OFF BAIT is a metal jig developed to maintain the casting distance of a jig while allowing for a slightly slower retrieve. Its center-balanced design causes it to rise on a medium-slow retrieve, producing a wobbling action reminiscent of a sinking pencil at that speed. In flatfish fishing, where speed, depth, and action are crucial, its standout feature is the combination of a metal jig’s casting distance and a “carefree wobbling action” that mimics baitfish in an off-guard state.

The lineup includes 20 g, 30 g, 35 g, and 40 g models, all measuring 68 mm in length. The 30 g and 35 g models are easy to select between according to the required casting distance and depth. A medium-slow retrieve is the basic technique; the lure rises and produces its action depending on the retrieve speed. The hook setup consists of a size #8 hook on the front and a size #6 hook on the rear, allowing the lure to be used as supplied.
