Issei Umitaro Hook / Jig Head

issei’s Umitaro Hooks and Jig Heads are a series of jig heads designed according to the worm action and fishing technique they are intended for. The Swimming Nezakodama was developed for targeting rockfish that chase bait in the mid-water column. Its line eye is positioned on top of the head, and its swimming-oriented shape makes it easy to retrieve at the desired depth while maintaining a horizontal posture. It is designed to resist rising in the water column even during fast retrieves, and features a heavy-wire Cultiva hook. The hook shape makes it easy to rig the worm straight, while the two-stage keeper holds it securely. The multifunctional eye on the underside of the head can be fitted with an assist hook or blade.

The Nezakodama is a jig head designed for probing areas prone to snags. It features an unconventional octagonal head based on a spherical form, along with a gently flattened shape extending from the front to the bottom. Its design makes it less likely to enter gaps between rocks, while the eye balance helps it maintain a bottom-down position. During the fall and retrieve, it produces a wobbling action, while on the bottom it entices fish with subtle, rapid head movements. It is equipped with a fluorine-coated Cultiva multi-offset hook. The Hanebi Head Gold Hook is designed to produce sharp darting action when paired with the Hanebi. It features a triangular head that cuts through the water and moves widely from side to side, a gold-plated hook, and a large-diameter eye, making it suitable for enticing fish with light rod movements.
