Crazy Ocean Metaller

CrazyOcean’s Metaler is a lead squid jig developed using the principles of metal jigs. By viewing a lead squid jig as “a metal jig wrapped in fabric,” CrazyOcean spent more than a year testing to pursue an action that is “just right” for squid—not too flashy and not too subdued. When imparting action, it lightly changes its posture, while when paused, it is designed not to flutter excessively even when affected by the current.

The body has a square shape and is completely covered in fabric. The body’s flashing effect remains active even while the jig is paused, while the tape positioned beneath the fabric continues to shine in the current and attract squid. The color lineup includes “Oudo,” “Jado,” and “Gedo,” incorporating a flash-and-fade effect created by their asymmetrical left-right designs. Colors featuring blue glow and two-tone glow are also available. The hook is a two-tier design intended to provide solid hookups.

The basic technique is to impart action with the rod, then pause the jig, combining subtle posture changes with a stable stay. A wide range of sizes from No. 8 to No. 50 is available, including No. 15 and No. 20, allowing selection according to the current and water depth. The size is clearly marked so it can be confirmed even when the jig is removed from the package.
