K-FLAT’s KEI Jig Sharp is a metal jig designed to take advantage of its 3:7 weight distribution, producing a crisp, responsive action that cuts through the water in the mid-water column. Inherited from the Gummy, its shape is designed to establish a horizontal posture from the moment it starts moving and to make it easier for the jig to maintain that horizontal posture through its momentum after the action. The basic technique is to send the jig a long distance with quick rod work, creating a horizontal “pause for the bite.”
With a one-pitch action, it traces a baitfish-sized silhouette through the mid-water column, imitating sardines and saury. Adding more aggressive rod work makes it easy to produce an irregular action with unpredictable changes in direction, like a football. It is suited to jigging for yellowtail amberjack, Japanese amberjack, and greater amberjack, allowing anglers to search a wide range of depths around schools of baitfish. Available sizes are 130 g, 150 g, 180 g, 200 g, 235 g, and 260 g. This product is supplied without hooks, so select and rig assist hooks to match the tackle being used and the target depth.
