Awabi Honpo Abalone Sheet

Awabi Honpo’s abalone sheets are tuning sheets that add the luster of natural shell to the surface of lures and egi squid jigs. Premium natural abalone is sliced to approximately 0.08–0.1 mm thick and hand-split by skilled artisans into a mesh pattern, giving the sheet the flexibility to conform easily to curved surfaces. The back is fitted with an ultra-thin, highly transparent double-sided adhesive sheet, allowing the base color and aluminum texture to show through after application. It is water-resistant and can be used as is; coating it with urethane or a similar finish after application can further enhance the surface shine and durability.

The lineup includes a versatile type that can be cut to match the shape and intended use of a lure, the Pro Awabi Sheet for Egi, which is pre-cut into a shape that is easy to apply to the tail section of an egi, and a 24 mm-wide type suitable for small egi and sutte jigs. Pro Awabi Sheets come with adhesive backing and are ready to use by simply removing the release paper and applying them. Clean the application surface to remove dirt and oil, align the sheet, and press it down firmly all the way to the edges to incorporate the reflective qualities of natural shell into your lure or egi tuning.
