HAYASHI’s EGIZARU squid jigs are built around traditionally inherited paulownia wood bodies and skilled handcrafting, using the buoyancy and balance unique to wooden jigs to attract squid. Because they are handmade from natural materials, individual products may vary in finish, balance, and sinking speed during use. In addition, as paulownia absorbs water, the weight and sinking behavior may change depending on its degree of water saturation.

The Tobizaru variation is designed to produce irregular movements through the uneven balance of its paulownia body, while its original flight-type sinker is intended to create sharp darting action. Work the jig with jerks to make it slide laterally, combining this with the irregular action characteristic of a wooden body to attract squid. Multiple base and tape specifications are available, allowing selection according to light levels and water color. Due to the use of natural materials and handmade manufacturing, variations in color tone, shape, and perceived weight may occur even among products with the same specifications.
