34 (THIRTY34FOUR) S Carry is a sinker for a carrying system developed to bring the feel of jighead fishing offshore without changing it. It is designed to cast lightweight jigheads long distances without adding weight to the jighead, while allowing anglers to slowly search the offshore surface and mid-water layers. On its own, the S Carry sinks at approximately the same rate as a 0.4 g jighead. When paired with a jighead heavier than 0.4 g, the jighead sinks ahead of the S Carry, unlike a conventional inline Carolina rig. By concentrating the line connection at a single ring, the design minimizes the sinker’s tendency to absorb the jighead’s action or strikes, and it also allows for quick replacement using a snap. The standard models are available in 1.5 g, 2.0 g, 2.5 g, 3.0 g, and 4.0 g.
Set up the rig in the following order from the main-line side: a stopper rubber, a float swivel fitted with the S Carry, a Kalaman stick, and the jighead. The standard distance between the stopper rubber and the Kalaman stick is approximately 10–20 cm, while the distance from the Kalaman stick to the jighead is approximately 20–30 cm. When fishing, select the weight according to the required casting distance. After casting, count down to let the rig sink to the desired depth, then impart about two small twitches and wait for a strike as the rig falls under tension. If there is no response, repeat the twitch-and-tension-fall sequence, adjusting the jighead weight to match the desired falling posture and speed.
