BlueBlue’s BALBAL85 Technical Edition is a sea bass rod developed with an emphasis on accurately hitting targeted spots with technical casts and controlling the lure exactly as intended. The second model supervised by BlueBlue pro staff member Yusuke Takahashi, it was completed after five years of development. The blank is designed to handle not only overhead casts but also side casts and underhand casts with high precision, making it ideal for pinpoint casting around intricate bridge supports and tight to structure.

It handles everything from small plugs to medium-sized minnows around 12 cm with ease, and supports a wide range of techniques used in sea bass fishing, including steady retrieves with lipped minnows, slow drifting with sinking pencils, and delicate action input for topwater plugs. Measuring 8.5 ft in length, it features a two-piece design and has a standard weight of 137 g. The recommended lure weight is 5–30 g, the recommended PE line size is #0.6–1.5, and all guides are Fuji titanium guides. This Technical Edition is designed for anglers who prioritize casting accuracy and lure control on highly pressured waters.
