XESTA’s MicroBee is an ultra-compact metal jig developed for targeting horse mackerel, rockfish, and other species with a slow-falling action and pinpoint presentations. As an additional option for Super Light Shore Jigging (SLS), it is designed to appeal even to fish that have become wary of lures.
The body is condensed into a small silhouette, and its fall is characterized by fine, flat-sided flashing. As it falls, it sinks with a regular flashing action, occasionally producing a brief, irregular fall. During a jerk, it swims sideways in response to the angler’s handle movement, then transitions into a flashing fall after the swim. This makes it suitable not only for steady retrieves and lift-and-fall presentations, but also for precise presentations within a targeted depth range.
Available in 5 g, 7 g, and 12 g sizes, it can be selected for applications ranging from pinpoint presentations at close range to situations requiring casts with a lightweight jig. After it lands, use the fall to search the depth where fish are holding; if there is no response, add short, sharp jerks or brief lifts, combining the sideways swimming action with the flashing fall to trigger strikes. Centered around slow presentations, this model is easy to use for light-game fishing from breakwaters and along the shoreline when targeting situations where fish are focused on small bait.
