Niko Design Office’s Mamesaya Jig is a metal jig for saltwater jigging, designed with a distinctive shape reminiscent of a bean pod to produce multiple actions depending on how it is worked. Its vertically asymmetrical body features a center-balance design with the weight distributed throughout, generating an irregular action that is less prone to settling into a single, predictable movement. It also features a sharp head shape that helps reduce resistance during jerks, along with wide, flat sides that produce flashes.

When worked vertically, it darts sideways while flashing and kicking out, creating an erratic darting action. When retrieved horizontally or diagonally, its movement changes to a minnow-like action combining rolling and wobbling. During slow jerks or retrieves, the bean-pod shape catches water and creates subtle vibrations, making it suitable not only for steady retrieves but also for searching while varying the retrieve speed and angle. It can be used for a wide range of offshore saltwater jigging applications, targeting species such as cutlassfish, red sea bream, and pelagic fish including yellowtail.
