Major Craft Tachijigi Dojo

Major Craft’s Tachijigi Dojo is a metal jig designed for tachiuo (cutlassfish) jigging, with the aim of producing action automatically with easy rod lifts. Available in Standard and Slow Fall types, it can be selected according to conditions: the Standard type for conventional retrieves, and the Slow Fall type for showing the lure on the fall when the fish are less active.

Its unique low-center-of-gravity body, smoothly finished toward the rear, is designed to sink quickly while shedding water resistance and to maintain a stable posture during the fall. During rod lifts, the jig is easy to make move without complicated操作, making it easier to build the basic presentation used in tachiuo jigging. The Slow Fall type is suited to situations where you want to give the lure more time to fall and remain visible when the bite is slow.

The hooks use Japanese-made hooks focused on sharp penetration, including the Tachijigi Dojo 4-hook rig and Tachijigi Dojo Assist Hooks. The basic presentation is to drop the jig, work it with rod lifts, and add pauses for the fall as needed. The Standard type serves as an easy-to-use benchmark model, while the Slow Fall type can be selected when you want to incorporate a fall-focused presentation.
