SHOUT’s Madai Assist Short Single is a flexible, short assist hook designed to improve the hook-up rate on hard-to-hook targets such as red sea bream by enhancing the hook’s ability to follow the lure’s movement. The assist section is designed to avoid becoming excessively long when attached to a jig, while allowing the hook to move in sync with the jig. Model 332MS is available in S, M, and L sizes, corresponding to Madai hook sizes No. 13, 14, and 15. The assist section uses PE line, rated at 50 lb for the S and M sizes and 80 lb for the L size.
Attach it using a split ring of your preferred size, selected according to the jig’s eye and the setup being used. As a short-type model, it is suitable when you want to keep the assist hook length compact when attaching it to a jig, or for setups that allow the hook to move flexibly for improved hook penetration. The sizes differ not only in hook dimensions but also in PE line strength, allowing you to choose according to the size of the jig, target species, and overall tackle balance.
