SHOUT’s Assist PE Line is a tubular braided PE line designed as a material for making assist hooks. Its construction allows the inner core to be removed before use and supports processing during assist-hook construction, including making loops with a needle. The PE material is made from Dyneema, which, according to the manufacturer, does not suffer the UV-related strength deterioration associated with aramid fibers such as Kevlar. It is also softer and more supple than Kevlar when compared at the same diameter.
The 89-AP is 3 m long and available in 50 lb, 80 lb, 100 lb, 120 lb, 150 lb, 200 lb, and 300 lb strengths. Select the strength according to the hook and jig being used and the expected load, then cut it to the required length to make assist lines. This DIY assist line is easy to process for various applications, including removing the inner core and creating loops with a needle.
