tailwalk’s AJIST SD is a standard-class series developed with a focus on the lightweight construction required of ajing rods. Each component that affects weight—including the blank, tip, and grip—has been thoroughly reviewed. The Advanced Grip Design minimizes the reel seat and uses a carbon pipe and EVA for the other grip sections, achieving a weight reduction of up to 39% compared with previous models. The blank is primarily made from 40T high-modulus carbon sheets, while the guides are equipped with Fuji SiC rings from the tip through to the butt.

Each model features a different tip construction. Models ending in SL use a 30T high-modulus carbon solid tip, SSL models use a 24T carbon short solid tip with a shortened solid section, and TT models use a tubular tip. The S47/SSL is an ultra-short 4-foot 7-inch, 35 g model suited to finely manipulating lightweight jig heads close to your feet. Its design makes it easy to adjust the depth in centimeter increments around light-and-dark boundaries, such as those near streetlights. The short solid tip responds quickly even to small lure movements, making it easier to produce short darts. From the S55/SL onward, rod lengths and maximum lure ratings are progressively set, offering a lineup selectable according to the fishing spot and technique, from delicate close-range manipulation to casting in harbor areas and targeting different depths at long range.
