SHIMANO’s Liptus 80S is a compact lure designed for surf fishing, combining the casting distance of a sinking pencil with the appeal of a minnow-style lure. Equipped with a small lip, it maintains a stable action from slow to fast retrieves and is less prone to losing its action at high speeds, where lipless sinking pencils can become unstable. The lip also helps prevent the lure from rising more than necessary, making it easier to maintain the desired depth.

The body measures 80 mm in length and weighs 27 g. Its main weight is a fixed weight with an integrated through-wire construction. The low center of gravity stabilizes the lure’s flight posture during casting and provides a stable shimmy fall after splashdown, as well as a steady swimming action in complex currents. During the retrieve, it maintains a horizontal posture while generating a powerful, full-body swinging action. Combined with the flat-sided body, this also produces an effective flash. The enlarged rear eye provides the hooks with greater freedom of movement while allowing for a wide swing. In addition to a steady retrieve, the lure is also suited to slow presentations after a long cast, as well as depth-focused techniques incorporating a fall. It is equipped with two No. 5 hooks at both the front and rear.
