Shimano 25 Grappler Type BLD

Shimano’s 25 Grappler Type Blade is a rod designed to optimize the balance of casting, retrieving, and hook-setting in blade jigging. Combining a soft tip with a powerful butt section, it suppresses tip wobble during high-speed retrieves, stabilizes the lure’s action, and makes it easier to absorb a fish’s runs when it bites. The blank features Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies to reduce twisting and support power transmission during casting, hook-setting, and fights. The guides are sized and positioned for smooth line flow, while the reel seat is designed with a larger diameter than conventional light jigging rods. It also offers a comfortable grip during sustained high-speed retrieves.

The lineup includes three models: the S70-0 for versatile inshore applications, the power-oriented S68-1, and the S66-2 for deep water and long casts. The S70-0 is rated for depths of 60 m plus, vertical jigs from 20 to 80 g, and a maximum cast weight of 60 g, making it suitable for offshore fishing as well as casting games in shallow water. The S68-1 is rated for depths of 80 m plus, vertical jigs from 30 to 120 g, and a maximum cast weight of 90 g, making it ideal for deep water, strong currents, and targeting large Spanish mackerel and other pelagic fish. Both models feature a center-cut two-piece design.
