Shimano 25 Grappler Type SJ

Shimano’s 25 Grappler Type Slow J is a baitcasting rod designed to enhance overall jerk response and strength, allowing anglers to precisely control jigs while producing effective falling actions in slow jigging. All models feature a uniform 6-foot 6-inch length, with the blank bending smoothly throughout while the tip is set slightly harder. When loaded, the tip automatically recovers, creating an action that makes it easier to produce a fall after the jig is sharply lifted. Compared with the previous 6-foot 8-inch length, the shorter design makes it easier to adjust the fall distance while also providing a quick, responsive feel and effortless handling during jerks.

The blank incorporates Spiral X and Hi-Power X to pursue lightweight handling along with high torsional and crushing strength. The reel seat features a lightweight, high-strength CI4+ carbon full-holding seat that accommodates various grips, including gripping the rod, resting it in the palm, and using a two- to four-finger hold. The B66-3 is rated for PE line No. 2.5 and jigs up to 260 g, with a power setting intended for depths of around 100 m when using fast retrieves and beyond 200 m in deep water when using slower retrieves. The lineup ranges from B66-1 to B66-6, allowing anglers to select a model according to jig weight, recommended line size, and target depth.
