Shimano’s OCEA METAL SHOT TG SPANISH MACKEREL is a blade-tuned metal jig based on the Soare Metal Shot TG, designed with emphasis on the casting distance and depth-keeping ability required for Spanish mackerel fishing from a boat. It features a compact tungsten body with the center of gravity positioned slightly toward the front, allowing for a reduced profile at the same weight while delivering long casts and a fast sink rate. The 32 g JU-T32W is a sinking model, suitable for casting to feeding fish and searching a wide area.

The body features a large flat surface that enhances flash, while the rear is equipped as standard with a Colorado-style blade for balance and a single hook. The body is less prone to excessive instability during high-speed retrieves, while the rotating blade produces flash and vibration. Its design helps suppress lift and makes it easy to retrieve at a consistent depth, making it suitable for fast retrieves in shallow water. The basic technique is to cast, count down to the target depth, lower the rod tip toward the lure, and retrieve quickly. Retrieve speed can be adjusted from medium to high depending on conditions, and the lure can also be worked during the fall or as it rises after reaching the bottom.
