Shimano OCEA Pencil Hiramasa 160

The SHIMANO OCEA PENCIL BECHU HIRAMASA 160F is a floating pencil lure designed primarily for targeting large yellowtail kingfish, balancing long casting distance with an easy transition into a diving action. Centered around an S-curve diving action, it offers stable handling that makes it easy to get the lure below the surface even when fishing from elevated positions such as horsehead rock formations. Within the OCEA PENCIL series, the 160 mm class is designed for selection according to baitfish size and fish activity.

The 160 mm body weighs 57 g and is designed to combine casting distance with swimming performance. Underwater, it dives in an S-shaped trajectory and responds to rod movements that guide it from the surface to below the surface. Its exterior features SHIMANO’s proprietary Scale Boost-style hologram, which replicates baitfish scales and produces complex reflections when struck by light. Available colors include Kyorin Katakuchi and Tourin Iwashi. This model is used primarily for yellowtail kingfish, as well as offshore casting for yellowtail and tuna. The manufacturer-recommended setup is two #2/0 hooks with 100 lb split rings.
