SHIMANO’s SPIN BEAM HI APPEAL is a surf-oriented metal jig that uses a large body profile made from a low-density alloy to generate strong water displacement and flash, attracting fish over a wide area. The 37 g JG-237V model features a substantial 84 mm body. Its lower-density material produces an action on a steady retrieve that combines a pronounced side-to-side wobble with rolling. Flash from the flat sides of the body, together with its powerful vibration, makes it highly noticeable to flounder and flathead, as well as sea bass and pelagic fish.

The rear-weighted design stabilizes the lure’s posture in flight for casting, allowing anglers to efficiently search offshore breaklines and expansive surf areas. Its low specific gravity reduces the fall speed, allowing the body to remain visible and attract fish as it sinks, while also supporting slow retrieves with reduced lift in shallow water. The basic presentation is a steady retrieve, with stop-and-go and lift-and-fall techniques easily incorporated as conditions dictate. During the fall, the lure sinks with a slight backslide action, making it possible to create a pause for a strike during the retrieve. It comes standard with two #4 hooks, and its body shape is designed to help reduce problems caused by the rear hook catching over the back.
