SHIMANO OCEA 8 PE is an eight-strand PE main line developed with a focus on the powerful performance required for offshore fishing. It uses next-generation high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber, “X-Filament,” to pursue the fundamental performance demanded in offshore applications.

The braiding process incorporates “Tough Cross 2.” Combining Tough Cross with the VT manufacturing method improves the smoothness and linearity of the line surface, helping to equalize strength while reducing stretch and enhancing abrasion resistance. In addition, sizes No. 4–12 feature “Heat Sink Coating,” made with a special silicone resin to improve slipperiness. Depending on the size, LD-A61S is available in 200 m, LD-A71S in 300 m, LD-A81S in 400 m, and LD-A91S in 500 m. You can choose between the five-color marking specification, with colors changing every 10 m, and the SW Navy specification. This offshore PE line lets you select the line size and spool length to match your reel and fishing style while using the color coding to easily keep track of water depth and the amount of line released.
