SHIMANO’s Netsu-Suna SPIN BEAM is designed for targeting flounder from the surf, combining the long-casting performance of a metal jig with a swimming action on a steady retrieve and controllability for probing the desired depth range. The standard SPIN BEAM 32G [OO-232M] features a 32 g weight for casting distance and a rear-weighted design that helps stabilize its flight posture even in crosswinds or headwinds. Its construction also makes it easy to maintain bottom contact in areas with current, such as rip currents and steeply dropping surf zones. The compact body starts its action as soon as the retrieve begins, attracting fish with a side-to-side tail-swinging swim and flashing.

The basic presentation is to let the lure sink to the desired depth by counting down after it lands, then use a steady retrieve. It accommodates everything from slow to high-speed retrieves, and can also be used to cover different depths by incorporating a fall, bottom contact, and pauses. Hooks are mounted at two points, on the belly and tail; the standard configuration uses a size #8 front hook and a size #6 rear hook. The front hook is designed to help prevent tangling with the body. The series also includes the 42 g SPIN BEAM TG [OO-242P], which incorporates a high-density tungsten weight near the rear. While retaining the characteristics of the standard model, it pursues a more compact silhouette and a stable flight posture. Equipped with size #6 front and size #4 rear hooks, it is designed for use in strong winds, around offshore changes in bottom structure, and in deep water or fast currents.
