Shimano OCEA Bubble Dip

Shimano’s OCEA BUBBLE DIP is a slim popper developed to combine splashing and diving actions, attracting fish beneath the surface with bubbles and sound. It features a small cup that produces splashes more easily than a pencil bait, while creating a smaller splash than an offshore popper, making it well suited to situations where fish are feeding on small bait.

The bubble chamber inside the cup draws fine bubbles underwater when the lure dives, creating an attractor that evokes the shimmering scales shed by anchovies as they flee. It also serves to release air from inside the cup during casting. The 180F model equipped with Jet Boost features a spring-supported moving weight system and through-wire construction, designed to provide high initial casting speed, stable flight posture, and immediate swimming action after landing. In Flash Boost models, the internal reflector continues to flicker while the lure is paused or drifting.

The lure can be worked by using rod action and retrieve speed to submerge the cup, then drawing bubbles with continuous popping. It also accommodates short-jerk techniques for targeting bait balls, as well as stop-and-go retrieves with pauses. The three-line-eye system allows the hook setup to be changed. On the 180F, treble hooks are attached to the center and rear eyes, while single hooks are fitted to the front and rear eyes. The 220F Flash Boost combines a large body with Flash Boost and is designed with tuna fishing in mind, featuring eyes for single hooks and compatibility with #4/0-class treble hooks.
