SHIMANO’s Soare Ultra Shoot is a float designed for long-distance casting to reach offshore spots that are difficult to target with standard floats, while helping maintain the desired depth even during a slow retrieve. It was developed to explore distances and depths that have previously been difficult to fish, targeting large horse mackerel cruising offshore and rockfish hiding in shallow weed areas.
The body is made of ABS and measures 133 mm in length across all models. The rear lip helps maintain depth while also enhancing the feel during the retrieve. After casting, the basic technique is to use a slow retrieve while keeping the desired depth in mind. The lineup includes the 20 g SF-L20Q, 22 g SF-L22Q, and 24 g SF-L24Q, with sinking rates of approximately 9.7 seconds/m, 5.6 seconds/m, and 4 seconds/m, respectively. Since the sinking action varies by weight, you can choose the appropriate model according to the depth you want to explore—from the surface to the midwater range—as well as the current and wind conditions.
