SHIMANO’s SEPHIA BB is a basic rod series that combines ease of use with the depth of eging, accommodating a wide range of fishing styles from shore to boat and from shallow to deep water. The blanks feature Hi-Power X to suppress twisting that occurs during casting and fights. By reducing power loss and unwanted wobble, it improves casting accuracy and distance while making it easier to transmit the applied force to the egi during jerking. Despite its lightweight design, the series offers solid strength, while the grips and reel seats are configured for comfortable handling.

The lineup comprises 16 models, allowing anglers to choose from different lengths and powers, ranging from light eging to power-oriented models for targeting large squid. The S83M is an 8-foot 3-inch all-rounder focused on maneuverability and a light, responsive feel. The S86M features the standard eging length and offers a well-balanced combination of handling, casting distance, and power. The S89M is a semi-long model focused on casting distance, while the S86MH and S89MH are power-oriented models designed for large squid, deep water, and areas with strong currents. The S83L and S86L feature Soft Tube Tops, while the S76SUL-S, S86ML-S, and S86M-S are equipped with TAFTEC∞ high-strength solid tips. With the solid-tip models, it is easy to visually track the tip’s movement, making them suitable for fishing that emphasizes egi control and detecting bites. This series lets anglers select the ideal model according to egi size, fishing location, season, and the desired balance of casting distance and handling.
