Shimano Soare SS Ajing

Shimano’s SOARE SS AJING is a light saltwater rod designed to deliver the handling and easy hook-setting required for ajing across a wide range of rigs. Its basic construction incorporates Spiral X to suppress twisting and crushing while helping the rod quickly settle after casting, resulting in a sharp blank that makes intended lure control easier. It also features a bridge-like sheet with enhanced surface hardness, along with an ultra-compact ajing-specific grip designed for a secure hold during casting and reduced perceived weight during retrieve.

Each model has a distinct tip character. The S48SUL-S, S54SUL-S, S60SUL-S, and S68SUL-S feature Taftec, which takes advantage of its suppleness to make changes in load from lightweight jig heads easy to detect. They are suited to delicate fishing with jig heads under 1 g, as well as techniques that rely on sensing the tip loading under tension. The S58UL-S, S64UL-S, S70UL-S, and S64L-S use high-response solid tips that follow subtle rig movements and enable anglers to actively set the hook on bites. The S58UL-S is a 5-foot 8-inch model that allows anglers to set the hook while the rod bends. Its shorter length enhances sensitivity, making it well suited to areas around fishing ports with few obstructions. The S64UL-S is a standard model designed to balance easy hook-setting with confident fish-fighting control, while the S70UL-S is a semi-long model that handles a wide range of rigs with ease, from jig heads, split-shot, and Carolina rigs to lightweight metal jigs and plugs.
