Shimano’s OCEA STINGER BUTTERFLY TG GATLING is a metal jig designed with a compact body that takes advantage of tungsten’s high specific gravity, making it well suited to situations when baitfish are small. Its composite body incorporates a tungsten core and features a laterally symmetrical design with a rearward center of gravity, allowing it to sink quickly while producing a variety of actions centered around the weight.

The body features a multifaceted construction that reflects light upward, downward, and to both sides, creating flashes in a wide range of directions. The flat sections on the sides have slight indentations that help the lure grip the water, making it easier to generate action despite its compact silhouette. In shallow water or when fish activity is low, it responds to presentations that increase the number of retrieves while limiting forward travel. From situations where the jig needs to be sent quickly to the bottom to repeated short rod inputs in shallow water, its shifting center of gravity allows anglers to build a variety of jigging presentations. Weights including 60 g, 80 g, and 100 g are available, allowing selection according to the target depth, current strength, and desired handling.
