Shimano OCEA Head Dip

SHIMANO’s OCEA HEAD DIP is a floating pencil lure designed around long-casting performance and strong water displacement for offshore casting. Available in 140F, 175F, and 200F sizes, it is sized with species such as tuna and yellowtail kingfish in mind. By incorporating sufficient weight for the body size, it achieves long casting distance and stable flight, while its water-gripping body shape generates a powerful action after splashdown.

Flash Boost models feature a mechanism that suspends a reflector inside the body on a spring. Using vibrations generated on splashdown and during jerks, it produces flashes even while the lure is paused or between jerks. Its low-buoyancy design allows the entire body to sit easily in the water, making it suitable not only for casting to feeding fish but also for drawing fish out. It can be worked as a diving pencil through rod work and reeling, and applying force momentarily can create a skipping action across the surface. With Flash Boost models, combining slow jerks with longer pauses is also effective for showing the lure to fish and triggering strikes. The Jet Boost-equipped 140F and 175F combine stable long casting with a quick start to the swimming action through their weight-transfer system, while the 140F is also designed to deliver casting distance with underhand casts. Recommended hook sizes vary by model: the 140F is generally rigged with #3/0 or #2/0 hooks, the 175F with #4/0 hooks, and the 200F with #4/0 or #5/0 hooks depending on the target fish and conditions.
