The SHIMANO OCEA PENCIL is a sinking pencil designed for offshore big-game fishing, with an emphasis on casting distance to quickly deliver the lure to the target area and an appeal that imitates baitfish. The 115HS and 115XS feature 115 mm bodies equipped with Scale Boost, a multi-pitch hologram that mimics baitfish scales and produces complex reflections underwater. The 115HS is designed for heavy sinking, while the 115XS is designed for extra sinking. Although they are the same size, their weights and sinking characteristics differ, allowing anglers to select between them according to the depth range and current conditions. The standard configuration comes equipped with two #1 hooks, with the 115HS weighing 42 g and the 115XS weighing 60 g.

The Skipjack Special 115HS is a variant model tuned for use with assist hooks. After a full cast, begin retrieving immediately once the lure lands among the school of fish, then use fine twitches and jerks with the rod tip held high to bring the lure up toward the surface. It is also designed to pair easily with a single hook and helps reduce the likelihood of tangling in a landing net. Because the sinking settings and hook configurations differ between the standard 115HS/115XS and the Skipjack Special, anglers can select the appropriate model based on the assist hooks they use and the target depth range.
