Tenryu Horizon MJ

TENRYU’s HORIZON MJ is a versatile bait-jigging rod series designed to handle a wide range of retrieves, from high-pitch to slow-style techniques, allowing anglers to work jigs with combination jerks that vary in speed and rhythm. Designed for technical games targeting everything from pelagic fish to bottom-dwelling species, it is suited to actively working the jig to provoke strikes.

In addition to lengths selected for excellent handling and performance, the butt section incorporates C.N.T. (Carbon Nano Tube) composite material for enhanced resilience and lifting strength. The K-guides feature stainless-steel frames and SiC-S rings, with enlarged guide diameters suitable for use with PE #2–3 main lines. The reel seat uses PULS, while the spacer is made from a Nishijin-ori-patterned carbon pipe. The foregrip is shaped for easy straight pumping.

The HMJ5101B series is a 1.78 m one-piece design, with each model offering a finely differentiated jig-weight range that is easy to work with for both high-pitch and slow-style jerks, from light games in shallow water to fast currents and deep water. The HMJ642B series features a 1.93 m grip-joint design and ranges from the HMJ642B-LL, a super-light model for inshore fishing, to the HMJ642B-H, designed for fast currents and deep water. During the fight, avoid holding the rod too high; instead, keep it at an angle close to parallel with the water’s surface. By lowering the rod and relying primarily on the reel’s winding power, it becomes easier to pull the fish away from structure.
