Abu Garcia Oceanfield Offshore Casting

Abu Garcia’s OCEANFIELD Offshore Casting series is designed for offshore lure casting, with each model assigned a specific power and lure-weight range. The blanks feature Abu Garcia’s proprietary X Carbon Tape Wrapping, in which carbon tape is wrapped in an X pattern from 45- and 135-degree directions. This construction helps increase blank torque and suppress twisting. The rods are also equipped with New Concept Guides made by Fuji Kogyo.

The lineup consists of three models: the OFOS-76ML for small to medium-sized fish, the OFOS-78M for medium-sized fish, and the OFOS-80MH for large fish. The OFOS-76ML is a 7-foot 6-inch, medium-light power rod with a fast action, compatible with 7–35 g lures and PE 0.8–1.5 line. It is suited to casting for yellowtail, sea bass, Spanish mackerel, bonito, juvenile bluefin tuna, and dolphinfish. It features a two-piece construction and a blank made of 98% carbon and 2% glass. The OFOS-78M is compatible with 14–60 g lures and PE 1.5–3 line, while the OFOS-80MH is compatible with 35–80 g lures and PE 4–6 line, allowing anglers to choose the model according to the target fish size, lure, and line being used.
